Senior/Ambassador Think Like an Engineer

In this Journey, Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors will learn how engineers use design thinking to solve problems by completing three engineering design challenges. Girls will design and build prototypes such as holder for a six-pack of soda that isn't harmful to animals, a kinetic sculpture, and an assistive device to help the elderly. Girl Scouts will receive instructions on how to complete the take action portion of the Journey at home.

This course is for Girl Scout Cadettes who are interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Silver Award. Caregivers and troop leaders are welcome to attend as well. This training will allow girls to learn the steps necessary to complete their Silver Award project and how to submit their completion form.

Grades 9-12

This workshop is for current 9th-12th grade Girl Scouts who are interested in beginning their Gold Award. All Girl Scouts are eligible to earn this prestigious award, regardless if they earned the Silver Award as a Cadette. Please note that this is an expanded version of the required Gold Award training, therefore, if a Girl Scout attends this workshop, they will not have to attend additional training. Since this workshop is provided for Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts, we welcome interested caregivers and troop leaders to attend a 2-hour Gold Award training session provided throughout the year if they would like to know more about the process to earn this award.

Cadette Digital Game Design Dec. 8 Noon-4:30 pm

Join us at the Saint Louis Science Center for an exciting adventure into the world of digital game design! In this program, Girl Scout Cadettes will learn about game design fundamentals, unleashing their creativity to craft their very own digital games. We will explore game design history and potential careers in the world of programming. Come along for an adventure where creativity meets technology! Lunch is included.

Girl Scout Cadettes earn their Coding for Good II: Digital Game Design Badge.

For centuries, humans have developed methods to create and bind paper in order to share ideas and knowledge. The craft of creating books has evolved over time, but the basic human need to share words and pictures has stayed the same. In this badge, we'll try various methods of creating beautiful books to enjoy. This virtual program includes a box mailed to the participant’s house with all the supplies needed and the badge earned.
