Let's go on a Daisy Journey! In this program, girls will learn about different animals, how caring for animals is similar to caring for themselves, make lots of nature-inspired crafts, and do a Take Action Project that educates the community.

Are the mushrooms found in backyards edible? During this program, Girl Scouts will consult with an expert from Wild Seeds Field Museum and learn about different mushrooms that are edible. We will only identify (not pick) mushrooms, but Girl Scouts will be able to try provided samples. Girl Scouts will also learn about ethics and mindfulness regarding edible and non-edible plants and our natural landscape. Registered adults will also be able to participate in the program.

Grades 4-5
Girls will learn how citizen scientists make observations, collect data, and help scientists conduct scientific research. Then, we’ll apply what we’ve learned by surveying and identifying the living things that call camp home—including flowers, birds, reptiles, mammals and more! Girls will record their findings and share their observations with researchers and scientists using iNaturalist as part of the City Nature Challenge.
Girl Scout Juniors complete Part 1 of Think Like a Citizen Scientist Badge.

It's tea time! Send out an invite to the most important (and fanciest) ladies to join us for our Girl Scout tea party! Dress in tea party attire, and get ready for an afternoon of tea, finger sandwiches, and of course Girl Scout crafts!

Ready to hit the trail? Hiking is a fun and healthy outdoor activity. Brownies will learn skills for taking a successful hike, and then go on one!

Junior Digital Photographer May 3 10 am-12:30 pm
Girl Scouts will learn the tips and tricks for capturing creative photos through a photo exploration workshop led by Photographer Cathy Lander-Goldberg, LCSW. Girls will take photos at Forest Park and bring home two digital self portraits that capture a positive internal quality and an image of themselves they imagine for their future. Cameras will be provided to take photos. Girls will also receive a copy of Cathy’s Photo Explorations Workbook.
