Invasive plant species in Missouri have a negative impact on the environment and native species.

The invasive species were brought into the local habitat by people unaware of the danger.

Troop 1274's project will continue to educate their community through the booklet and video.

Target Audience :

These young changemakers researched invasive species in Missouri and gathered information about five of the most common plants. They then made an informational booklet on how to identify the different types of species and the negative impacts they have on the environment. In addition to the booklet, Troop 1274 filmed a video about invasive plants to share with their local community members. After completing their project, the Girl Scouts attended a volunteer event with the St. Charles Parks department to remove honeysuckle at a local park.
