Company Branded Patch Programs

What is a Girl Scout Patch Program? Like Girl Scout’s iconic badges, patches are earned by Girl Scouts who complete a curriculum and set of activities that address one of the four core pillars of Girl Scout leadership programming: STEM, Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Outdoor Adventure. Once earned, patches are proudly worn by Girl Scouts on their uniforms to represent a mastery of the topic covered. While traditional Girl Scout badge curriculum is developed at the national level by Girl Scouts of the USA, patches represent a unique opportunity for collaboration on the local and regional levels between Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri and YOU, our corporate partner. Each year, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri welcomes the expertise of our Patch Program partners in developing unique and innovative curricula around academic, social, and professional topics that enrich our girls’ skill development and advance the mission, culture and work of your company within the greater community. Edward Jones is proud to partner with Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri to train and equip the young entrepreneurs who will become tomorrow’s business leaders. As Girl Scouts prepare for this year’s cookie season, our message is good luck, have fun, and you’ve got this! -Laura Ellenhorn, Edward Jones

Your logo here! Disability Awareness Girl Scout Brownie Your logo here! Like badges, Patch Programs are designed to be progressive and skill-building so that Girl Scouts may deepen their understanding of important topics over their Girl Scout lifetime. For example, a Cybersecurity badge is offered at every level of Girl Scouting. As a Girl Scout Daisy (K-1st grade), a girl learns what a computer is, how they work and what safety and protection means. By 11th 12th grade as a Girl Scout Ambassador, she is debating the ethics of hacking, learning to secure data, and exploring cyber careers. Patch Programs can also be offered as a series to one Girl Scout level, nurturing deeper understanding at the right age-appropriate moment for the topic.

Daisy Drop Box & Brownie Bundle

Together we are better with our volunteer troop leaders, our fearless frontline champions and facilitators of Girl Scout leadership programming. In 2022, we successfully supported 287 troops, serving 4,200+ Daisies in eastern Missouri. The concept is simple and the reward is great. Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri mails Daisy Drop Boxes EVERY MONTH to kindergarten and first grade Daisy troop leaders who then deliver the curriculum contained within using the supplies provided. Materials include everything needed to run one troop meeting every month. The activities within the box align with our national curriculum, including options for Girl Scouts to explore the worlds of STEM, Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Outdoor Adventures. Now Supporting Our Brownie Leaders Due to the overwhelming success of the Daisy Drop Box program, we are launching our brand new Brownie Bundle for the 2023-2024 membership year. It will be piloted to our first year Brownie troop leaders this fall and serve our 2nd grade Brownies.

Girl Scout Council Led Programs Did you know that Girl Scout programming extends beyond traditional troop meetings, badgework and cookie sales? GSEM also hosts year-round individual programs that celebrate lifelong learning in the areas of STEM, Life Skills, Entrepreneurship and Outdoor Adventure. And those programs are made better by the participation and support of our corporate partners who contribute to the curriculum, serve as one-time guest speakers, host field trips at their places of employment, and much more! The Junior Budget Maker program was both fun and rewarding. The staff at GSEM helped us every step of the way, from lesson-planning to last-minute decorating ideas. In the end, everyone’s time was well-spent, dreams were discovered (and saved), and laughs were shared and THAT’s what makes volunteering with GSEM so rewarding! -Danny Shaver, Charles Schwab

Nothing illustrates the idea of “Better Together” more than GSEM’s Women’s Leadership Network. Women who lead in their homes, in their workplaces, and in their communities only grow with the support of their peers. By coming together regularly throughout the year, members of the Women’s Leadership Network model that mindset for today’s Girl Scout, encouraging her to embrace that collaborative spirit as she discovers her path forward. Year-round Women’s Leadership Network events provide women in the region with opportunities for celebration, reflection and conversation. Members share their journeys in leadership with each other and consider together how their experiences may enhance the leadership potential of today’s eastern Missouri Girl Scouts. The WLN connects you to the leaders of today, who support each other and give of their personal time, professional expertise and financial support to prepare the way for your leaders of tomorrow, our Girl Scouts. -Karen Miller, WLN President

April 5-7, 2024

Together, Girl Scouts make a difference – and strive to make lives better -- through community service initiatives like April Showers. April Showers is Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s largest annual community service event, as well as the ONLY large-scale personal care item drive in the region. Throughout the month of April, Girl Scouts collect 1 million+ personal care items (deodorant, toothpaste, diapers, first aid items, feminine hygiene products, soap, and more). Those items are then distributed to local pantries by our Girl Scouts with additional support provided by Operation Food Search. Not only do our Girl Scouts serve our 28-county region through April Showers, but they also gain valuable insight into the needs of their communities and the change they can spark there with their actions alone. I think it is important to participate in April Showers because it’s a way to give to people who are having a hard time getting what they need. Everyone deserves the basic things in life to care for themselves, and we as Girl Scouts have the power to bring that to people. -Dana C., Girl Scout Alum
