Camp Fiddlecreek

Dogpatch Dogpatch, the popular primitive hammock unit at Camp Fiddlecreek, has recently moved to the west side of the lake where it’s been for many years to across the road from Myrtle’s Manor behind Monk’s Bathtub. Nestled in the woods, Dogpatch will accommodate 12 hammocks for Girl Scouts who like to sleep outdoors under the stars and be swayed to sleep. Level X Play Structure Building on the popularity of the Spider Net Climber, the Level X structure was installed at Camp Fiddlecreek. It is a free-play experience for girls to enjoy without having a certified adult facilitating the experience or reservations required. Leaders and event staff will want to be sure and have adults present while girls are participating, as with all activities. We are grateful to the Mabee Foundation for their support of this project.

The Berges Family Creation and Imagination Station The Berges Family Creation and Imagination Station, made possible by the Berges Family Foundation, is officially underway! In May 2023, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri broke ground during a special ceremony. Construction activities began in March 2024 and will take place during weekdays when camp is not being used for programs. The Berges Family Creation and Imagination Station will offer a vast array of Girl Scout program opportunities led by staff and expert community partners with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, math and the outdoors. Some features of the new building including a science lab, digital maker space, kitchen, outdoor classrooms, a large outdoor deck and a podcast broadcast room. GSEM has installed a camera that provides a live feed to give members the opportunity to watch the construction at girlscoutsem.org/herfutureisourfuture .

Wayfinding and Signage Each of Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s camps, starting with Camp Fiddlecreek, has an established wayfinding system that is supported with signage that directs visitors to units, program sites and buildings.
