Ideas for Volunteers at a Collection Site
All Volunteers 1. Arrive at the site at the time designated by the Neighborhood April Showers Coordinator 2. Find out where items are to be put as they arrive 3. As troops arrive: • Direct troop leaders/adults to the Data Collection Coordinator to turn in AS-1 • Have troop unload the vehicle and place donations in a designated spot 4. Ask for help and/or call the Neighborhood April Showers Coordinator for assistance if needed 5. Finish stocking items as needed 6. Leave area cleaner than you found it Trailer Drop Site Volunteers Follow the procedures above; however, instead of stocking the items, you will put them in boxes and place them on the truck (the personal care items do not have to be sorted). Operation Food Search will provide boxes and information on how to load properly.
Suggested Supplies: • District/Neighborhood Collection Site Record • Boxes for pantry locations
• Calculator • Card table • Clipboard • Large trash bags for empty plastic bags, see recycle information included in this booklet • Permanent markers, pens • Stick-on name tags (first names only) • Umbrella or rain gear (prepare for the weather)
