Kid's Playroom Makeover

Issue:

The playroom at the Women’s Safe House needed a brighter look and makeover for a better place for the kids to enjoy.

Root Cause: Children do not deserve to be involved in a domestic violence situation. Most kids feel scared. By updating the playroom, the kids can feel safe and enjoy just being a kid.

Project Details: First plans were created for the remodel with the help of a designer. After gathering all the supplies for the remodel, work began to remove all the items in the room and sanitize the space. The walls were painted bright colors, ceiling light fixtures were replaced, and shelves were built to store the items. Posters were made to hang on the walls. After the remodel, all the toys, books, games and other items were organized on the new shelves and around the room.

Sustainability: The remodel of the playroom will be maintained by The Women's Safe House staff.
