2022 Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri COVID-19 Protocol

Product Program Protocol

• Host a virtual booth/cookie party/live event: This can be done on social media for friends and family. The social media toolkit on the Cookies+ web page has resources to support marketing this • Social media posts: Girl Scouts can promote their cookies business on social media to friends and family and the public with the help of parents/caregivers. The social media toolkit includes great graphics and sample posts Girl Scouts can use to support their virtual efforts • Supportive adults can tap into their social networks to share their Girl Scout’s Digital Cookie link following GSUSA online marketing guidance • Other promotion channels: If digital ordering is not possible, Girl Scouts can turn to phone calls, social media, and text messaging • Experimental entrepreneurs: Girl Scouts are encouraged to experiment and get creative with new ways to reach their customers. Whether by creating a fun new marketing video, like stop motion animation, or finding new ways to interact with customers, we encourage innovation and personalization in all our programs Cookie Booths Securing cookie booth locations is an important aspect of the cookie program experience. At this time, cookie booths are permitted. Please review these safety guidelines to ensure a safe experience for your troop. This guidance is supplemental to general booth guidelines and subject to change. Please be sure to pay close attention to eBudde notes about each booth location’s guidelines, as some partners have specific requirements. Booth Protocol • It is important that Girl Scout troops adhere to the standards of booth staffing. Some locations may have greater restrictions on staffing than the council guidelines. Participants must follow the COVID-19 Troop Meeting and Volunteer-Led Activity Protocol when planning and determining adult and Girl Scout participation, including guidance on mask-wearing • No more than four (4) Girl Scouts and two (2) Adult Volunteers (two are required) should be at booths, unless the booth partner has a different restriction. At least one of the adults must be a registered Girl Scout member and have completed the volunteer screening process. Troops can schedule shifts to give all Girl Scouts (and adult volunteers) the opportunity to participate in booths • To increase a customer’s comfort to patronize your booth and to add an additional layer of protection for the Girl Scouts, it’s recommended to set up your booth to allow for distance. It may be helpful to bring painter’s tape and mark the spot where customers should stand/wait • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as money boxes, mobile devices used for payment, and tables • Practice proper handwashing procedures, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer prior to and after using common equipment and supplies, after handling transactions, after using the bathroom and after blowing nose, coughing, or sneezing. Use hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol • Offer touchless payment options to customers. The Digital Cookie app can be used to process credit card payments for individual girls or for troops that set up their troop link • When exchanging paper and coin money: o Avoid touching your face afterward o Wipe the table regularly
